C.U.K.T. in Bytow
During the International Artistic Festival- "The Castle of
Imagination"- the artists from CUKT (Technical Culture Central Office)
presented the next version of multimedia show TECHNOPERA and made The Voluntary
Act for the City of Bytow. Surprising the officials of Bytow, they offered
work for free for city's profit. After the signing the official agreement
with mister Marek Palasz, president of Bytow, artists from CUKT renovated
19 tourist cabins, belonging to MOSIR (The Sport and Recreation Centre)
and renewed lines on the parking lot on the shore of Jelen Lake.
The CUKT 5-persons team carried out the task in three
days (26-28.June 1996), and the end ofwork,wascelebratedbyTECHNOPERA performance
at the Jelen Lake and building the Memory Board on the wall of MOSIR's
Main Office. Thanks to separate agreement with the Bytow City Council,
activists of CUKT were completely independent of "Castle of Imagination"
organizators. They operated beyond the time and space set by festival.
They're working every day from 7am to 3 pm with the breaks for lunch. They've
got accomodation in MOSIR and breakfasts and dinners in "Kaszubianka" restaurant.
The citizens of Bytow will be long time remember CUKT's attractive working
suits they've got from company ROBOD. Apperance of five weird figures in
snowy-white working suits ,everytime made a little exitement on the streets
of Bytow,and local workers with whom CUKTERS worked were interested mainly
in working suits preffering anyway less festive colours. Thanks to convincing
costumes and concistency in actions,artists of CUKT were able to transform
themselves into the working crew, made a real work for the City being at
the same time expanded in spacetime performance action. We invite you for
